Our Story
Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Macree Companies was established with a clear mission: to guide our projects, investments, and clients through every stage of the real estate development cycle—from initial concept to project completion. Our team brings decades of collective experience, combining strategic insight with hands-on execution to deliver exceptional results.
Kyle Zaylor, Founder & Managing Principal, has a robust background in designing, entitling, and constructing over 5,000 multifamily units, 350,000 square feet of retail space, and 1.7 million square feet of office space, totaling projects valued over $3 billion. His expertise spans a diverse range of large commercial endeavors, from $5 million to over $300 million projects in California and the Pacific Northwest. Kyle holds an MBA and Master of Science in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Ohio State University.
Macree, our company namesake and the quintessential old soul wrapped in a furry, lovable package. With eyes that have witnessed a lifetime of adventures and a heart that exudes warmth and wisdom, Mac is more than just our mascot; he's a cherished companion whose presence brings joy to all who cross his path.
Macree is a Certified Good Boy and Canine Good Citizen by the American Kennel Club. He will shake anyone down for a treat and not think twice about it. Outside of his office responsibilities, Mac loves to lay in the sun, get a good belly rub, and take long walks on the beach.
